CIA director goes to Ukraine to deliver Russian intelligence to Zelensky

The head of the United States National Intelligence Agency (CIA), William Burns, met secretly with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky last week. The Washington Post reported on Thursday to deliver his predictions about the Russian plan.

According to multiple sources familiar with the trip to Kyiv, Zelensky and his aides were most concerned with how long Ukraine could expect U.S. aid to continue. Western nations after Republicans took control of the House of Representatives and support for the country dwindled among some of the voters.

The newspaper noted that Burns emphasized that this was a key moment on the battlefield, acknowledging that there would come a time when it would be more difficult to obtain funding.

Ukrainian officials feel that support for the Democratic government of Joe Biden remains strong and that the $45 billion in aid to the country approved by Congress last December will last “at least” until July or August. I left the meeting.

Kyiv, meanwhile, is less certain that parliament will approve another additional aid package, the newspaper added, along with those sources.

The trip was leaked a month before the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
