The mood of Slovenian consumers is slightly worse at the beginning of the year, according to the Sursa survey. The consumer confidence index fell by four percentage points in January after three months of growth and was 13 percentage points below the long-term average.
On a monthly basis, all four components of this indicator, the current financial situation in the household, deteriorated for six percentage points, remaining indicators, expectations regarding financial situation in the household, regarding economic conditions in the country and regarding each of the larger purchases for three percentage points, the statistical office (Surs) wrote.
Compared to last January, the value of the consumer confidence indicator decreased for 11 percentage points.
Even on an annual basis, all four components of this indicator, namely the current financial situation in the household, deteriorated for 13 percentage points, expectation regarding economic conditions in the country as well for 13 percentage points, expectation regarding major purchases for 11 percentage points and expectation regarding financial situation in the household for six percentage points.
As the statisticians pointed out, among other things, consumer expectations have improved regarding apartment renovation and car purchase, expectations regarding buying or building apartments worsened.
