Stanko Polanič, longtime director of Panvita Group and Pomgrad Group, has died

At the age of 73, Stanko Polanič, the longtime owner and director of the Panvita Group and the Pomgrad Group, died after a short battle with a serious illness. The groups employ a total of more than 1,500 people, which makes them one of the most important employers in Pomurje.



Polanič started his professional career at the company Slovenija ceste Ljubljana, and in 1982 took over the position of director at the company SGP Konstruktor tozd Gradbeništvo Pomurje. In 1997, he participated in a consortium of companies that bought the Pomgrad group of construction companies, in which he then assumed the position of chief director. During his tenure, among other things, he took over the company VGP and the Murska Sobota road company and integrated them into the Pomgrad group.

Later, Polanič and his business partners, among other things, took over the Rakičan Farm and transformed it into the Panvita Group, which consists of nine affiliated companies.

He left an eternal mark as a dedicated businessman and received several professional awards. He had a significant impact on the development of the Pomur region and with his work, knowledge and expertise contributed enormously to the development of the Slovenian construction and food industry,” they wrote in Panvita.
