Today, the week of amateur culture ends with a big festival at the Volčji Potok Arboretum



Today, admission to the Arboretum is free, with 20,000 visitors expected

The week of amateur culture, which lasted a month after a two-year break this year, ends with today’s highlight – the first JSKD Day festival, Dober dan, where thousands of amateur culture creators will present themselves at the Volčji Potok Arboretum.

At the final event under the motto “Where good people abound”, the creators of 12 activities within the Public Fund for Cultural Activities will present themselves at eight venues, eight branches of amateur culture and eight culinary corners will be on display, and around 3,000 will be presented. creators of amateur culture in Slovenia.

Between 10 am and 6 pm there will be a varied program that will present different faces of amateur cultural activities in eight venues: concerts of wind bands from different parts of the country will take place throughout the day, as well as vocal and choral music venues and other genre vocal-instrumental music, it will also be varied on the stage of theaters and puppets, all dance lovers will be able to see many choreographies, and their work will be put on display by writers, also in the form of duels. The art activity is presented in the form of an open studio, in which more than 90 artists and photographers from all over Slovenia participate.

“Personally, I think we are very important for our social life, quality of life,” said the director of JSKD for Radio Slovenia Damjan Damjanović. “Everyone will have activities, animations, even for children, fishermen will present what fishing means, the mountaineering association will bring a climbing wall.”

Today, admission to the Arboretum is free. The event, which is held under the honorary patronage of President Borut Pahor and organized by JSKD and co-organized by Arboretum Volčji Potok and the Municipality of Kamnik, will be accompanied by a humanitarian campaign to raise funds for children with cancer.

Other festival participants will present themselves at other venues, from firefighters to rescuers and beekeepers, and all lovers of good food will be able to express themselves in the culinary corners. , Notranjska, Prekmurje, Primorska and Štajerska cuisine.

More than a hundred thousand creators dedicate time and energy to cultural projects

Amateur Culture Week is an all-Slovenian project for greater visibility of amateur culture and its creators, a tribute to more than 107,000 amateur cultural creators in Slovenia and abroad.
