The science fiction film All Everywhere at Once is nominated for the Academy Awards in a total of eleven categories, including Best Picture.
There is an extremely strong representation of Irish film, and the world of Marvel received its first nomination in the history of the Oscars.
Among those competing for the Oscar for the best film are: Nothing new in the West, Avatar, Souls of the Island, Elvis, Fabelmans and Tar.
Irish black comedy Souls of the island and a film about the First World War Nothing new in the west they each have nine nominations, followed by the biopic with eight nominations Elvis. The personal drama family has seven nominations Steven Spielberg The Fabelmans.
The surprises were perhaps most pronounced in the Best Actress category.
