Billionaire Paris Hilton has admitted she was victimized by former film producer Harvey Weinstein, who was recently sentenced to another 16 years in prison for rape.
In an interview with Glamor UK, the socialite revealed that Weinstein tried to seduce her and assaulted her when she refused to go to her room at a hotel in Cannes, France.
As he recounts, in 2000 he was invited to a party at the Cannes Film Festival to raise funds for the fight against HIV. It was then that she had a disturbing encounter with Harvey when she was only 19 years old.
Weinstein, 48 at the time, approached her and asked her if she wanted to be a star. Paris told her that she really aspired to the film world, so the former producer invited her to his bedroom to “discuss some scripts” she could possibly debut in. Hilton refused simply because he “didn’t want to.”
After the party, Weinstein followed her into the women’s bathroom, yelling at her and trying to get into the bathroom with her. Security guards blocked his way, but Hilton described the experience as terrifying.
The designer also claims that he didn’t talk to the producer of “Pulp Fiction” for fear of a big influence.
“Yes, he was a very powerful man in Hollywood that everyone feared. I didn’t want to say anything (at the time) because that’s how it was… I didn’t want people to be mad about what I said,” he said.
Last week, Harvey Weinstein was sentenced to 16 years in prison for rape, adding to the 23 years he is already serving for various sex crimes.
