This year, the red carpet at the Oscars was replaced by a champagne-colored one, and outdoor photography was replaced by a tent. But something remained the same – the stars revived the glamor with sparkling creations and elegant silhouettes on the “most important night of the year”.
At the 95th Academy Awards, there were practically no names that, according to experts, kicked the darkness with their fashion choices, more than not everyone in turn praised the choice of colors, creations, fashion accessories and hairstyles that the singers and actresses chose for this time awarding. This year, for the first time in 62 years, there was no classic red carpet, i.e. the red color of the base, but the biggest names from the world of entertainment came to the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on a champagne-colored carpet.
The decision to change the color was made by the creative team, who said that the champagne color helps with “the transition from daylight to an elegant evening event”. A leader Jimmy Kimmel he also regretted last year’s unpleasant event, when he Will Smith forced an earplug on stage To Chris Rockand explained the change in the color of the carpet by saying that they are with this “wanted to emphasize that we really won’t see blood this time”.
Classic white and black
In terms of fashion, it was mainly an evening of shiny, white and black elegant creations, only a few opted for eye-catching colors. They were among them Sabrina Elba in green and Cara Delevingne in a red dress by designer Elie Saab. Others resorted to the “safe” white color, among them Emily Blunt in a printed, completely simply tailored dress from the fashion house Valentino, and Michelle Williams in a Chanel creation with a crystal bedspread. Winner of the Academy Award for Best Actress Michelle Yeoh also came in white, in a much more striking and rich Dior creation with diamonds.
There was also a lot of black. Among the more praised were singers Lady Gaga, who chose a creation from this year’s autumn-winter collection by Versace, which has a transparent upper part and an extremely low neckline at the hips. The heavily pregnant singer impressed again Rihanna in a leather creation by the house of Alaïa, which also emphasized her tummy.
The actress went in a completely different direction Cate Blanchett, which earned her eighth Oscar nomination. Her elegant creation had the addition of a bow made by refugees assisted by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Salma Hayek she was happy to pose with her daughter, and was also besieged by photographers for her printed Gucci dress in orange with a plunging neckline. Always elegant Jessica Chastain she did not disappoint this time either, she opted for a silver and black Gucci toilet, and completed the look with diamond and emerald jewelry.
A British woman Florence Pugh she chose an asymmetric dress creation, which she wore under black pants and platform shoes, and dyed her hair two colors. Jamie Lee Curtis received the Oscar for the best supporting role in a sparkling dress from the hands of the duo Dolce and Gabbana, Angela Bassett however, she impressed with her choice of purple.
They also praised Halle Berry in a white satin creation with gold decoration by designer Tamara Ralph, Elizabeth Olsen in a Givenchy creation and Jennifer Connelly in a dress with an unusual cut around the neck, signed by the fashion house Louis Vuitton. Not even one went unnoticed Eva Longoria in the creation of Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad.
Soft pink jacket chosen by the daughters
Among the men, black tuxedos and bow ties dominated, only the actor was more daring Dwayne Johnson in a soft pink jacket from the Dolce & Gabbana fashion house. As he said, his two young daughters helped him get dressed.
