Paris Hilton mourns her beloved chihuahua Harajuku Bitch, who kept the reality star company for more than half of her life – she lived to the ripe old age of 23.
“Today, my heart breaks as I say goodbye to my beloved chihuahua. For 23 wonderful years, she filled my heart with so much love, loyalty and unforgettable moments,” wrote 42-year-old Paris on Instagram alongside a series of photos with her dog.
Hilton, who is with her husband Carter Rheum welcomed her first child born with the help of a surrogate in January, the Harajuku Bitch paid tribute with a lengthy note in which she wrote that she “lived a long, beautiful and iconic life”.
“She was surrounded by love until her last peaceful sleep. Words cannot describe the indescribable pain I feel.”
In one photo, the blonde star is holding a puppy in one hand and an umbrella in the other, while another photo shows the chihuahua surrounded by stuffed toys, including Prada’s doggie bag.
“She was more than just a pet. She was my family, a loyal friend who was always by my side, through every ups and downs of life. From the glitz and glamor to the quiet moments behind the scenes, she was always there, a little nugget of love , which brightened even such dark days. We shared so many memories, laughs and tears.”
Chihuahuas in dog houses
Paris concluded the note by thanking the dog for all the joys and unconditional love.
“You will forever be my little angel, I will miss you forever and love you forever. You may not be here physically anymore, but the mark you left on my life will never fade. Rest in peace, dear friend.”
Paris’s love for animals is well known and the star has always been surrounded by them. In 2011, she spoke on Good Morning America about her 17 pets, including a piglet, pony, cats, dogs and rabbits. But she is best known for her chihuahuas, whom she dressed in fashionable coats, and who lived in luxury dog houses designed in the image of Paris’ villa.
In 2015, she had to say goodbye to Tinkerbell, the chihuahua who also appeared with Paris in her reality show The Simple Life. Tinkerbell lived to be 14 years old.
