In the name of “rationalization and reduction of operating costs”, the government changed and supplemented the decision on the establishment of the public institution Museum of Recent and Contemporary History of Slovenia

As stated in the press release, the reason for the change in the decision is “rationalization and reduction of business costs, improvement of work organization, personnel and principles of economy of real estate management and transparency”.

The part of the building on Poljanska cesta 40 is thus excluded from the real estate that was given to the Museum of Recent and Contemporary History of Slovenia to manage as part of the public infrastructure in the field of culture, the Government Communications Office announced. In the part of the building on Poljanska cesta, the Museum of Slovenian Independence, which was founded by the previous government under the leadership of Prime Minister Janez Janša, should be given space after the renovation.

The deed establishing the museum was also changed due to the contract concluded between the Museum of Recent and Contemporary History of Slovenia and the government on the transfer of the co-ownership share from the museum to the state in the real estate plot in Spodnja Šiška.

Instead of MNZS from now on MNSZSAt the same time, the opening hours and the museum’s acronym are changed in the act of establishing the museum. The abbreviated name of the Museum of Recent and Contemporary History of Slovenia is therefore MNSZS, the press release states.

On January 19, the Government adopted the decision on the establishment of the Museum of Recent and Contemporary History of Slovenia, on the basis of which the public institution Museum of Recent History of Slovenia and the public institution Museum of Slovenian Independence merged into the public institution Museum of Recent and Contemporary History of Slovenia. The Museum of Recent and Contemporary History of Slovenia was then entered in the court register on February 13.
