The government dismissed Bojan Cvelfar from the position of director of the Archive of the Republic of Slovenia and appointed Andrej Nared as acting director. Namely, at the end of April, Cvelfar submitted his resignation to the Ministry of Culture.
Andrej Nared will occupy the position from June 1 for a maximum of six months until the appointment of the director following a public competition, the Government Communications Office announced.
Nared is a university graduate historian and doctor of science and fulfills all the prescribed conditions for performing the duties of acting director of the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia. He graduated and received his doctorate from the History Department of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana.
Deputy director for a decadeHe has been employed at the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia since 1998, where he took care of senior archivists for 15 years funds from the field of regional administration, some thematic collections and personal ones funds and collections. For the past ten years, he has been the deputy director, so he knows well the operation of the archive, the professionals employed and the challenges that lie ahead of them, the press release says.
