Canadian singer Celine Dion has canceled all dates of the European leg of her Courage World Tour, which was otherwise interrupted by the covid-19 pandemic, for health reasons. “I’m sorry to disappoint you all again,” she told fans.

Even though I’m breakingi heart, it’s best to cancel everything until I’m ready to stand on stage again. I won’t give up and I can’t wait to see you again,” the 55-year-old singer also wrote.

Celine Dion is expected to have around 20 concerts in Europe this year and next year. She started the World Courage tour already in 2019 and performed at 52 concerts before the performances were interrupted by the covid-19 pandemic.

“The disease does not allow me to use my vocal cords”

The singer, who achieved world fame with, among other things, the song My Heart Will Go On, was diagnosed with stiff body syndrome last December, which causes her to have muscle spasms and occasional problems with walking and singing.

The disease does not allow me to use my vocal cords to be able to sing in the way I am used to,” she announced at the time.

First tour without her deceased husband and manager

Celine Dion released her album Courage in November 2019. The planned world tour would be her first in more than a decade and also the first without her ex-husband and manager Rene Angelil, who died of cancer in 2016, the BBC reports.

The singer has sold more than 250 million albums worldwide and is one of the most successful musicians of her generation.
