Many music journalists spend their days immersed in the global phenomenon sparked by singer Taylor Swift, but an American media group has gone further: looking for a reporter dedicated exclusively to covering the pop superstar.
Gannett’s career site now lists a job listing for a “Taylor Swift reporter” in Tennessee and USA Today media.
“The successful candidate is a motivated, creative and energetic journalist who can capture Swift’s tour and the excitement of her upcoming album release while providing insightful analysis of her music and career,” the ad said.
“We’re looking for a journalist with a voice, but without prejudice, who can quickly cultivate a national audience through intelligent content designed to satisfy readers,” he adds.

This reporter, according to the opening, highlights the biggest moments from the upcoming stages of Swift’s “The Eras” tour and offers an “insider’s view.”
Gannett, which owns USA Today as well as many local newspapers, has cut jobs in local markets in recent years. In December, he laid off 6% of the news division.
Now, it’s looking for an “experienced” and “video-focused” journalist who’s also an “energetic writer, photographer and social media professional” to cover Swift and only Swift.
The hugely popular 33-year-old singer, who is responsible for hits such as ‘Bad Blood’ and ‘Shake It Off’, is expected to break the record for the first billion-dollar tour thanks to ‘Eras’, which spans his entire career.
In addition to several new albums in recent years, he has re-recorded his previous work with great success, embroiled in a legal dispute over its ownership.
