The festival of new Slovenian music Frišno/Fresh is taking place in Maribor for the third time, which will reveal the newest Slovenian composition of the last year. For the first time, TV Slovenija’s 1st program also includes a live broadcast of the event, which is coordinated by Jure Ivanušič.
The voting on which of the ten standout songs, which were chosen according to the suggestions of the music editors of Radio Maribor and Radio Si, should be the new Slovenian composition of the last year, was completed a month ago. “It’s about so many different musicians and musical styles,” the music editor of Radio Maribor told Radio Prvi Gregor Stermecki.
Songs competed for the crown this year Allow me to (Cars), Kindergarten (Leopold I), Eight steps away (LPS), Lukat’s mother (Coconuts), A slide (MRFY), Little fears (Lamai), To the 5th dimension (2B), No panic (Masayah), Jump Marko (Vlado Kreslin) and Flow (ICE).
All that remains is for the winner of this year’s Frišno/Fresh festival to be announced. Who will become the bearer of the flattering title will be clear today at the final event, where they will pay tribute to new Slovenian music in the guise of the Big Band of RTV Slovenia. This year’s festival is already the third. “We are glad that the project is becoming traditional“, the responsible editor of Radio Slovenija told STA Darko Pukl.
The radio broadcast will be on Radio Maribor and Radio Si, and for the first time it will also come to home living rooms in a direct television broadcast on the 1st program of TV Slovenija. According to the acting editor-in-chief of Televizija Maribor Tomaž Karat they have been working for this for the past two years.
In addition to the award for the newest Slovenian song of the last year, as chosen by radio listeners, there will also be an award for the best performance with a big band, which will be awarded by an expert committee. The sold-out event will be connected again by the actor Jure Ivanušičwho will not stand alone on stage this time.
At the first Frišno/Fresh, two groups celebrated Joker Out and Hello! Dudeand last year Emkej with a song Lujezen and Neisha with Life is yours.
