On Sunday, 739 infections with the new coronavirus were confirmed in Slovenia with 529 PCR tests and 2903 rapid antigen tests. So far, 38,155 people have received the second booster dose, and according to the Mediana survey, interest is low.
According to NIJZ data, the seven-day average of confirmed cases is currently 2,222, and the number of confirmed cases in the last 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants is 1,494.
According to NIJZ, more than 662,000 people (approximately 31 percent of the population) have been vaccinated with one additional dose of the vaccine against covid-19, and 38,155 people (approximately two percent) with two additional doses.
According to the data of the research conducted by the Mediana Institute at the end of September, 46.9 percent of respondents do not intend to be vaccinated with the second booster dose of the vaccine against covid-19. 27.1 percent of respondents intend to get vaccinated, while 23.1 percent are undecided.
Among those who intend to be vaccinated, only five percent of respondents have been vaccinated with one dose or not at all against covid-19, around 14.5 percent have received two doses, and 80.6 percent three doses. The intention to vaccinate with a booster dose is therefore by far the highest among those who have already received all possible doses. Among those who intend to receive a booster dose, compared to the population, women are statistically significantly represented.
Among those who are most likely not to opt for a booster dose, the majority are those who have not yet received any dose of the vaccine against covid-19, namely 54.5 percent. A further 6.5 percent received only one dose, and 28.7 percent received two. Only a tenth of respondents who do not intend to be vaccinated with a booster dose received all three doses. In the group of respondents who do not intend to be vaccinated, compared to the population, men and people over 65 years of age are overrepresented.
The public opinion survey was conducted by the Mediana Institute between March 20 and 22 on a sample of 435 adult residents of Slovenia.
