The Government Ethics Tribunal (TEG) has decided to impose two economic sanctions on the administrator and councilor of the Cuscatansingo mayor’s office.

TEG has issued a $1,825 fine to José Ricardo González Torres, director of administration and finance in the Cuscatansingo mayor’s office, for giving preferential treatment to María Luz Giron de Orellana, a city council member from Nuevas Ideas, with funds from the commune. imposed a fine.

According to the court, administrators approved the $4,000 disbursement to the City Council member as a “temporary loan or allowance advance” for personal purposes, unrelated to the purposes or operations of the mayor’s office. City councilors say he must pay a $10,095 fine.

The TEG investigated whether Mayor Fernando Rivera was responsible for “possible violations of the ethical obligations set out in Section 5a of the Ethics in Government Law” for the powers he granted during that period. However, he was acquitted. He said: “We exonerate the person alleged to have committed a violation of the ethical obligations set out in the Article 5 letter regarding imputed facts.”
