Cedevita Olimpija’s basketball players will face Cluj at 8:30 p.m. in the 11th round of the European Cup in Stožice. The Dragons will be chasing their third win of the season.
After ten matches played, the people of Ljubljana are in last place with two wins, while Cluj celebrated in three matches.
In the Romanian championship, Cluj beat Targa Jiu with 91:66. Emanuel Cate scored 22 points and collected nine rebounds, former Dragon Andrija Stipanović scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds. Cluj is currently at the top of Group A of the Romanian Championship.
“We have a challenging match ahead of us. It certainly depends on her how we will look in the rest of the season in the European Cup. Cluj is a very aggressive and experienced team that plays smart, it consists of quite a few players from our premises. We will try to prepare to the best of our ability. Our game also depends on how many players we will have in training during this period, and we enter the match with positive thoughts,” said the head coach of Cedevita Olimpija, Jurica Golemac. Zoran Dragić, Marko Radovanović and Jan Kosi will be missing again.
On October 19 last year, the two teams faced each other for the first time in history, and Cluj won 94:76 in the Bt-arena. Stefan Birčević excelled with 24 points. At Cedevita Olimpija, Josh Adams was the best scorer with 25 points.
