The forward of the French PSG and the star of the Brazilian football team, Neymar, arrived in Doha today for surgery on the injury to his right ankle, which ended his season prematurely.
The 31-year-old has up to four months to recover from the injury sustained against Lille last month.Neymar was carried off the pitch on a stretcher in the second half of the French league match against Lille on February 19 due to an ankle injury.
Qatari-owned PSG announced that Neymar, who became the world’s most expensive player in 2017, will undergo ankle ligament surgery in Doha at Aspetar Hospital. Neymar confirmed to his fans that he will be fine after surgery “brought back stronger”.
His health has been a regular concern for PSG since signing in a record €222 million deal, having missed more than 100 games through injury or suspension. Since his arrival in Paris, he has played only 49 percent of PSG’s matches in the French championship.
