Isaac Portillo Allied Player
Alianza drew 1-1 with Club Deportivo Dragon at the Cuscatlan stadium at the start of match day 10 of the Clausura 2023 Primera División tournament. The goal was scored by Isaac Portillo for the capital and by John Montaño for San Miguel.
Eduardo Lara’s team has made some changes to its starting line-up as it thinks about Tuesday’s game against the Philadelphia Union.
Dragon took advantage of the “Arvos” rotation to send out a very aggressive team.
The game had good dynamics from the beginning with both teams looking for goals.
Primero Alianza had their first chance with a goal from Rodolfo Celaya, but they weren’t able to define it well after receiving the ball on the edge of the area around the 15th minute.
Dragons later got a chance and striker Montaño headed in a cross, but in the 23rd minute he shot past Mario González’s goal.
Moments later, Montaño himself took charge of the opening of the scoring, and after receiving a filter ball he got comfortable and scored with a diagonally hanging shot in the 29th minute to make it 0–1.
After the goal, Alianza reacted and started creating more danger for rivals’ goals, but it was only at the end of the first half that the score was leveled.
After a loose ball, Isaac Portillo fired a shot from around 25 metres, but it was impossible for the Dragons goalkeeper to save, making it 1-1 around 45 minutes.
With the scoreboard tied, the game was suspended.
In the second half, Alianza tried to keep the win, but it was ineffective then.
The most obvious was the one-on-one between Rodolfo Celaya and the Dragon goalkeeper.
“Arbos” tried to keep 3 points until the end, but they could not reach the goal and ended in a draw with “Mythological”.
With the tie, Alianza reached 20 points and remains the tournament leader at the moment. Dragon, on the other hand, has 14 units and he came in third.
