The ten-man Red Devils only drew with bottom-placed Southampton

Even after the 27th round of the Premier League, Arsenal players are five points ahead of Manchester City. Fulham had no chance against the Gunners in the London clash (0:3). Manchester United went goalless with last-placed Southampton.

At the iconic Craven Cottage, the hosts kept the pressure from the leaders in the opening 20 minutes. In the 21st minute, Leandro Trossard took a corner from the left, Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno stood on the goal line, and defender Gabriel shook the net with his head.

Five minutes later, Arsenal launched a quick attack. Trossard was again in the role of passer, but this time Gabriel Martinelli scored with a header. Defender Antonee Robinson was poorly positioned and failed to intervene.

In the 42nd minute, the Gunners goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale made a big mistake, losing the ball in the penalty area, and Andreas Pereira shot over the goal.

In added time in the first half, Martin Ödegaard sealed Fulham’s fate with a powerful shot from the right. Once again the pitcher was the outstanding Trossard, who proved to be a big boost.

The hosts played much better in the second half. The relegation hung in the air, Ram intervened well a couple of times. In the 71st minute, after Pereira’s pass from a corner, forward Aleksandar Mitrović hit the crossbar with his head.

Casemiro sent off already in the 34th minuteAt Old Trafford, the Red Devils found themselves in big trouble in the 34th minute. With a sliding start, Casemiro tried to intervene in front of Carlos Alcaraz. He hit the ball, but also hit the leg of the Agrnetin midfielder. Referee Anthony Taylor first showed the yellow card and the video referee advised him to watch the tape on the touchline. He quickly noticed that it was a very rough start and pulled a red card from his pocket.

Ward-Prowse, Walker-Peters and Fernandes hit the frame of the goalSouthampton got the wings in the second half. In the 54th minute, James Ward-Prowse hit the crossbar with a free kick from 20 meters. In the 65th minute, Aaron Wan-Bissaka made a big mistake, Theo Walcott ran alone towards the goal, and David de Gea showed up.

Manchester United was also dangerous. Bruno Fernandes shot from 18 meters in the 68th minute, and goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu deflected the ball into the post. Two minutes later Southampton hit the back of the net for the second time. Kyle Walker-Peters sent the ball into the post from the right.

United are now 16 points behind Arsenal going into the game.
