Drammen in Norway is the venue for the 25th individual race for cross-country skiers. Eva Urevc made good progress in the first quarter-final group, but fell at the last corner, broke her pole and had no chance of advancing.
Currently the best Slovenian cross-country skier Eva Urevac she ran in the first quarter-final group. On the technically demanding track that runs through the city itself, she moved from 6th place to 3rd place before the finish, but fell at the exit of the 180-degree turn into the fishin which she broke her cane and the hope of advancement faded away.
Among the 41 runners from 11 countries, Slovenia was represented only by Eva Urevc, who qualified for the elimination rounds by a second and a half. The 27-year-old Gorjan woman was 27th in the qualifiers, 10 seconds behind the fastest Norwegian, Kristine Skistad.
As for the runners, Slovenia did not have its representatives in Drammen among the 58 runners from 18 countries. Johannes Klaebo was the fastest winter leader in qualifying.
27 years ago, Petra Majdič ran to the historic first World Cup victory for Slovenia in cross-country skiing in Drammen.
