In the NBA, Denver has lost for the fifth time in its last six games. This time he was unsuccessful away from New York (116:110). Philadelphia continued its winning streak against Indiana (121:141), Joel Embiid shone again.
Although he didn’t play at all in the last quarter (everything was already decided), Embiid scored 31 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. He scored 30 points in his ninth straight game, a club record. He also “beat” the legendary Wilt Chamberlain and Allen Iverson. And that’s not all. Already in the seventh game of the series, Embiid exceeded 30 points by shooting more than 55% from the field. Since being limited by offense in 1954, only LeBron James has accomplished that feat in 2013. Embiid will have a chance to remain alone at the top of that stat on Monday against Chicago.
It was Philadelphia’s eighth straight victory (tying a club record for the season), which is behind only Milwaukee in the Eastern Conference standings. New York beat Denver 116-110, losing at Madison Square Garden for the first time since October 2017. Jalen Brunson returned from injury (missing five of the last six games) with 24 points. He scored 16 of them in the first quarter, when the Knicks were better with 36:28, but in the second quarter they already fell behind, even by 13 points. New York won the last quarter with 25:19. Nikola Jokić scored 24 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists for the guests. Vlatko Čančar did not get a chance.
