Tourism Minister Morena Valdes said El Salvador will host a total of 64 delegations to the Surf City El Salvador ISA World Surfing Games Tournament from 30 May to 7 June, which will qualify for the Olympic Games. Guaranteed to accept. Paris in 2024.

Officials explained that the tournament is estimated to attract 500 people, including players and their companions. However, this number is double his when considering the entire staff of the International Surfing Association and other teams involved in running the tournament.

According to Valdez, this kind of event promotes tourism and generates foreign currency attraction through tourist visits. In the first four months of 2023 alone, El Salvador received 1 million tourists, exceeding expectations.

“We are forecasting 2.9 million visitors this year, equivalent to more than $2.9 billion in foreign currency. Yes, this is a record number. We exceeded expectations,” the official said.

World-class waves, gastronomy, safety and sports are some of the main attractions that this country offers visitors, and it hosts six world-class sporting events on the coast of El Salvador.
