After the midday opening, the European rowing championship begins today in Bled with the qualifications. Four Slovenian boats are performing.
The people from Maribor performed first Jaka Chas and Nick Krebs in a duo without a coxswain. In their pre-competition group, they took the last, sixth place.
At 10:45 a.m., the race awaits the light skier Rajka Croat, the main favorite of the Slovenian race for high honors. Last year, Izolčan won bronze at the WC, this year he won the opening match of the World Cup in Zagreb. “Everything is going according to plan. The boat has the right, desired speed. We’ve been working on that for the last week, so I’m not worried from that point of view.” the Croat does not hide his ambitions.
Nina Kostanjšek will start the competition between female skiers at 11:45 a.m. “In the preliminary competition, I will focus on my match, as I do not know all my teammates yet, so I will try to lead as well as possible.“
At 12:05 a.m., another Ljubljana native will perform in the singles Filip Matej Pfeifer. “I want the best possible place in the group, because based on this you get the next competition and an easier group to place in,” says the 24-year-old rower.
You will be able to watch the finals on Saturday and Sunday on TV SLO 2 and MMC.
560 rowers from 33 countries will take part in the championship.
