English football star Jude Bellingham will continue his career at Real Madrid.
His former club Borussia Dortmund announced today that they have reached an agreement on a transfer worth 103 million euros. However, this is only the starting value, as with various bonuses for possible successes in the next six seasons, this sum could grow to 130 million euros, reports the German press agency dpa.
Dortmund added that there is no formal signing yet, but the player and the two clubs have already agreed on a transfer. In Dortmund, the 19-year-old, who came to Germany in 2020 from Birmingham, had a contract until 2025.
According to the new rules, he will be a member of Real until 2029. As dpa adds, Bellingham was on the transfer wish list of many clubs this season, including in his homeland, where he was courted the most by Liverpool, but he finally decided to move to Madrid.
Bellingham was the best player in the just-concluded season, according to the union of football players of the German league. He was outvoted Randal Kol Muani (Frankfurt) and Jamala Musiala (Bayern).
Despite his youth, he will turn 20 this month, Belligham is considered one of Dortmund’s most important players, often captaining the team. Last year, at the World Cup, he also established himself well in the jersey of the England national team.
