The U confirmed the worst prognosis for Jose Castro’s injury. Left knee anterior cruciate ligament tear and external meniscus injury
The University of Chile confirmed through a statement on Monday that left-back Jose Castro suffered a serious injury at the end of the Superclasico against CoroColo.
“A medical examination performed on this day has confirmed that Jose Castro sustained a torn anterior cruciate ligament and external meniscus in his left knee,” reported Bluestore.
The defender suffered this serious injury late in the race against Cesar Fuentes. The full-back slammed his knee into the grass. This caused him to flip over and immediately showed definite signs of pain.
“The player will undergo surgery over the next few days by the medical team, after which he will begin rehabilitation,” he said.
Recall that the footballer withdraws from the home of “Cacique” on crutches and is provisionally off the field for about six months.
