Coach Conmebol confirmed this Friday that the grand final of the Copa Sudamericana, the second most important club tournament on the continent, will not take place in Montevideo.

The Copa Sudamericana grand final, originally scheduled to be held at the Centenario Stadium in Montevideo, will still be held in Uruguay, but the venue has been changed.

Conmebol president Alejandro Dominguez announced the news about the change of venue for the continental final on his social networks.

The match was originally scheduled to be held at the Centenario Stadium in Montevideo on October 28, but the president of the South American Football Federation insisted that it would be held at the Domingo Burgueño Miguel Stadium in Punta del Este. .

According to local media, in recent days there was interest in moving the championship match to Paraguay, but this idea was ultimately scrapped.

We would like to add that this sports venue was opened in 1994 and has a capacity of 30,152 spectators.

It is worth remembering that in the semi-finals of the Copa Sudamericana, Defensa y Justicia (Argentina) will be paired with Liga de Quito (Ecuador), while Brazilian side Fortaleza will be paired with Corinthians.
