Canada also won the doubles match, with Alexis Garanau and Vasek Pospisil defeating Simone Borrelli and Matteo Arnaldi (originally replacing Andrea Vavassoli) in three sets in a Group A match in Davis. They won against Italy 3-0. cup.
The North American team overcame the initial dominance of the European team, winning 6-7(4), 6-4, 76(3). After about 3 hours of conflict.
The reigning champion of the competition clearly defeated the organizers at the Unipol Arena in Bologna.
In singles, Alexis Galarneau defeated Lorenzo Sonego 7-6 (8), 6-4, and Gabriel Diallo defeated Lorenzo Musetti 7-5, 6-4.

The national team will play Italy this Friday, and Canada will play the same game this Thursday against Sweden.
