Starting this Monday, the WhatsApp messaging application will implement the ability to edit messages. This feature is a novel feature that gives users 15 minutes to submit changes they deem appropriate.

Message editing is one of the most requested features from users of this meta service. The company has been working on this for some time, as seen in various beta versions of the application, and it began rolling out globally this Monday.

Specifically, as the tech company explains, users will see an “edit” option in the options menu that appears when they click on a sent message. Users can then correct “everything from simple spelling mistakes to adding additional context to the message” for up to 15 minutes after submission.

Messages that have received your changes will show a status of ‘tagged’. As the company clarifies on its official blog, this will be visible to recipients but will not give them access to the changelog.

Similarly, Meta has ensured that edited messages are protected with end-to-end encryption, including all personal messages, multimedia files, and phone calls.
