In August, Pošta Slovenije increased the prices of postal services

The reasons for the price increase are the increase in costs and the decline in classic written correspondence services

Pošta Slovenije changed the prices of postal services as of August 1. The price of sending a standard letter in internal postal traffic is seven cents higher and amounts to 0.69 euros, while the price of a priority standard letter is higher by 8 cents and amounts to 0.75 euros.



“The price changes are different depending on the service and depending on the mass levels within each service. The price of a standard letter in domestic transport, which is the most used service, increased by 11 percent, the price of an ordinary letter in domestic transport increased by an average of 20 percent , and the price for a registered letter in domestic traffic is higher by an average of 22 percent. The prices of sending packages are higher by an average of six percent.” explained in Pošta Slovenije.

The prices of the universal service for standard and ordinary letters, stationery, printed matter, registered and value letters and packages in domestic and international traffic have been changed at the post office based on the consent of the Agency for Communication Networks and Services.

According to the Post, the reasons for the price increase are the increase in the cost of energy products, the increase in transport prices, the rise in labor costs and the decline in classic written correspondence services. “Pošta Slovenije changed the prices because non-coverage own price, which is created by providing a universal service and is prescribed by the Postal Services Act,” they announced.

No new price changes are planned at the post office in the near future

Pošta Slovenije added that, in accordance with the law, they must provide service prices that are cost-oriented for all users of postal services, while at the same time maintaining the legally prescribed level of quality of universal postal services. They are not planning any additional price changes in the near future.

Sending a registered letter abroad became more expensive in August from 6.3 to 7.22 euros, while according to the portal N1 will be in the eye comparison with foreign countries. The Austrian post office charges 4.65 euros for the same service, as do post offices in Germany, Spain and France.
