Puerto Rican music star, rapper Bad Bunny, says he’s breathing easier after taking a break from social media for a few months.
“I’ve done this many times before, and when I go back to social media, I ask myself: why did I go back,” the 29-year-old singer told the American People. “The truth is, whenever I turn off my phone for an extended period of time, like a week – and there have been occasions when I’ve managed to stay ‘off’ for a month – I feel my best.”
Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, says it allows him to spend more time outside. “I’m breathing even better,” he says. “But at the end of the day, going on social media is inevitable, even if it’s just for a minute.”
In January, Bad Bunny reset his Instagram profile to private, meanwhile changing his Twitter description to “you will miss me“.
A month before, he told Billboard in an interview that he plans to take a break from music in 2023. “The year 2023 is for me, for my physical health, my emotional health, to be able to breathe, to enjoy my achievements,” Benito explained. “We’re going to celebrate. We’re going here, we’re going there, we’re going on a ship. I have some occasional commitments and I’ll go to the studio, but there’s no pressure. Don’t forget about yourself.” He returned to the music stage in April, performing at the Coachella festival.
The star released his latest single on May 18 Where She Goes.
