Team UAE Emirates has announced that starting in 2023, the team will be strengthened by Domen Novak. The 27-year-old signed a two-year contract with the future team.
Novak is a new stone in the UAE Emirates mosaic, which he brought to the team in the past few days Tim Wellens and Felix Grosschartner.
Novak, a former national champion, was excellent this year at the Race around Slovenia, where he finished third Tadej Pogačar and Rafael Majko. He will now join both of them in the team that will be chasing victory at the Tour de France again next year.
“My dream was to join the UAE Emirates and to cycle with such a champion as Tadej Pogačar. Now my dream has come true. I am honored and grateful that they have placed such trust in me,” said Novak after signing the contract for the UAE website Emirates.
“Novak is a cyclist who has shown progress over the years among professional cyclists. We feel that he can help the team especially in the mountains. With experience, I believe he can help the team a lot,” said the team leader Mauro Gianetti.
In recent weeks, the Emirates team extended the contract with Majka, an Italian Diego Ulissito the Americans Brandon McNultyDanes Mikkel Bjerg (all until the end of the 2024 season), to the Italians Matteo Trentinoto the Norwegians Vegard Stakes Laengen and Portuguese twins Ivo and Rui Oliveira (all until the end of the 2023 season).
