The only Slovenian representative on the fourth day of the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Nika Glojnarič, was eliminated in the qualifications of the 100 m hurdles. The broadcast of the four final decisions is on TV SLO 2 and MMC.
Glojnarič took eighth place in her group with a time of 13.13. She was 21 hundredths behind her personal record. In the group of the 22-year-old Slovenian athlete and a debutante at major member competitions, there was also Nigerian Tobi Amusan, who won gold at the WC in Eugene last year with a world record (12.12).
“I expected a better time, even in the warm-up, and I felt good before the match. I’m a little disappointed, but the girls were very fast this time and I’m missing several results under 13 seconds. I’ve had two so far, but a tied personal best would take me to the semi-finals. This is a new experience and an incentive to move forward. I want to qualify for the indoor WC in March next year, I already have the standard for the EP in Rome, and the goal is also to appear at the Olympic Games in Paris.said Glojnarič.
