Handball players from Gorenje Velenje achieved their fifth victory in a row. In the 5th round of the national championship, they defeated Rika Ribnica (38:33) in the Red Hall. With a 100% profit, the people of Velenj are in first place.
The greater part of the match was played in an equal performance, but the people of Velenj won the victory in the decisive moments of the match. In the 55th minute, the match was over completely open, and after a 32:30 lead, the handball players from Šaleška dolina took the lead with 34:30 after the goals of Urban Pippa and Petr Šišek, and then led the match to the final victory without particularly stressful moments.
In the Velenje team, Tilen Sokolič was the most effective in today’s opening match of the round with eight goals, one less was scored by Pipp and Enej Slatinek Jovicič. In the pond team, Uroš Knavs scored nine goals.

They were the most effective in the Celje team Mitja Janc with 10 and Tim Cokan with six, and in Koper Andraž Kete with eight and Bor Breznikar with five goals.
On Wednesday, Montpellier from France awaits in the Champions League, and on Saturday, the biggest domestic rival from Velenje, which is currently in first place in the NLB League.
