Maribor players won 1:2 in Domžale in the 15th round of the First Telemach League. Koper also won away from home, beating Rogaška 0:1. The match was decided by Enej Jelenič in the 26th minute. With the same result, Mura was better than Aluminij at home.
Purple won the league for the second time in a row, just like last Saturday over Rogaška after a reversal. They scored with only two shots on goal. The residents of Domžal lost for the third time in a row.
Dušan Kosić’s proteges took the lead in the 11th minute, when Sven Šoštarič Karič made a mistake in defense, as he stopped the ball poorly. He took it from him Mario Krstovski and ran towards the goal himself, eventually checkmating Ažbet Juga.
In the following, the Maribors threatened several times, and their pressure paid off at the end of the 45th minute, when Marcel Lorber from 20 meters he sent the ball under the crossbar for the equalizer.
After just over a minute of the second half, the visitors took the lead Hilal Soudani shook the net with a precise shot from 15 meters. In the 56th minute, the Styrians scored again, but from a forbidden position, and a little later, the home side also launched a good counterattack, which Krstovski ended with a shot, but Jug came out on top.
He had some luck in the 69th minute when the ball slipped out of his arms, but Domžale did not take advantage of it. On the other side, the reserve player missed twice Josip Ilicicand in the 85th minute there is a referee Matej Jug initially awarded an 11-meter penalty for Maribor, but changed his decision after reviewing the footage.
Koper keeps pace with Celje
In Rogaška Slatina, Jelenič scored after a precise cross Luke Vešner Tičić from the right side, when he routinely checked home goalkeeper Roko Vodiško from less than ten meters away.
With the victory, the Koper players closed the gap to the leader Celje, which is waiting for a derby against Olimpija on Sunday at 3:00 p.m., to three points, at least for one day. They extended their undefeated streak to eleven games, while Rogaška, which was an equal, sometimes better competitor, suffered its fifth consecutive defeat.
Primorje was the closest to increasing the lead in the 53rd minute, when Nejc Gradišar deflected the ball from a corner on the goal line after Franjo Prce’s shot. Six minutes later, Nardin Mulahusejnović tried from 15 meters, but the ball flew just over the goal.
In the last part of the match, the home team had more of the game, they were more concrete, but not enough to change the outcome. In the 85th minute, Mark Pabai prevented Slatina from equalizing with good intervention.
Tripi made Fazaneria happy
In the second match of the day, after four modest rounds, Mura only won, and at the same time won for the first time in the season in front of the home crowd.
Aluminij, which did not have a single shot on target, suffered its third defeat in the last four games.
The opening of the match did not offer many exciting events, after less than half an hour the hosts had a chance, but even then Kobie Morris was in a prohibited position. The crowd didn’t see a shot on target until the end of the first half, and even Ben Cottrell was inaccurate at the end of the opening 45 minutes.
Mura scored the only goal of the match in the 53rd minute. After a corner from the right, Amadej Maroša headed the ball towards to Philip Tripi, and he scored easily from close range. It was the debut for the Italian in the Mura shirt.
Sobočani were again active in the attack in the 81st minute, when Matic Maruško fired from a distance, but Jan Petek did not have a difficult task.
Tin Matić shook the Mura net just before the end, but he was in a prohibited position, so all three points remained at home.
